APPLICATION TERMS FOR GRACE ACADEMY TUITION

Our excellent instrumental tuition program offers both private and group lessons on a variety of instruments, including Strings, Brass, Woodwind and Percussion, and private Piano lessons. The instrumental program incorporates experienced private instructors who can take students through exams or simply provide the necessary skills to enjoy playing. Alternatively, we offer the opportunity for group instrumental lessons (e.g. a class of 4-6 students). The program enables students to utilize school hours to attend lessons.

The cost of lessons in 2018 is as follows:

Group Instrumental Lessons, excluding piano (30 minutes)         $175* per term
Paired Instrumental Lessons, piano only (30 minutes)                  $200* per term
Private Lessons (30 minutes)                                                           $315* per term

* Plus a $10.00 Administration Fee charged by the Primary School
 

Students are guaranteed a minimum of 34 lessons per year under our private and group instrumental program, and will be invoiced each term accordingly. Payment is not expected for additional lessons. This allows for lost lessons due to Public Holidays, teacher illness and whole school events such as Sporting Carnivals.

Our policies for GROUP and PAIRED lessons:

  • Individual students involved in group lessons do not have missed lessons made up other than for Public Holidays, teacher absence and whole school events such as Sporting Carnivals.
  • For known absences, students should, out of courtesy, provide a minimum of 24 hours’ notice directly to their teacher or via email graceacademy@glc.qld.edu.au
  • For unknown absences such as student illness, notice of absence is required by the parent/guardian to the Grace Academy office via email graceacademy@glc.qld.edu.au or telephone 3897 2118 by 8:00am on the morning of the absence
  • Long-term absences due to illness/injury may be negotiated with the Director of Grace Academy
  • To help keep track of attendance, notes are sent home when students are absent from a lesson without notice

Our policies for PRIVATE lessons:

  • When appropriate notice is provided, students involved in private lessons will have up to a maximum of 5 lessons per year made up for explained student absence
  • For known absences, students are required to provide a minimum of 24 hours’ notice directly to their teacher or via email graceadademy@glc.qld.edu.au
  • For unknown absences such as student illness, notice of absence is required by the parent/guardian to the Grace Academy office via email graceacademy@glc.qld.edu.au or telephone 3897 2118 by 8:00am on the morning of the absence
  • Long-term absences due to illness/injury may be negotiated with the Director of Grace Academy

Students entering the Primary School Instrumental Music program are expected to commit for a minimum of one year. The non-refundable total cost of the one year program is $740 for group lessons, $800.00 for paired lessons, and $1280 for private lessons, spread across four terms.

Students intending to discontinue lessons after one year are required to complete a ‘Notice of Intention to Discontinue Instrumental Lessons’.  Student’s advising of their intention to discontinue lessons after the commencement of term or during term will be invoiced for the full amount of the current term’s fees.
