Ignite Music Audition Excerpts

Students auditioning on an instrument or for the Ignite Excellence: Music program will have their audition one-on-one with one of our specialist instructors. Students will be asked to attempt audition excerpts on their nominated instrument. Please download your Excerpt pack from the links below.

Strings

Students will attempt Excerpt 1 & 2 (you may attempt Excerpt 3 if you like.)

  • Violin

  • Viola

  • Cello

  • Double Bass

Woodwind

Students will attempt Theme and Variation 1 (you may attempt one or more of the other variations if you wish)

  • Flute

  • Oboe

  • Clarinet

  • Bassoon

  • Saxophone

Brass

Students will attempt Theme and Variation 1 (you may attempt one or more of the other variations if you wish)

  • Trumpet

  • French Horn

  • Trombone

  • Euphonium

  • Tuba

Percussion

Students will attempt Theme and Variation 1 of both the Snare Drum and Mallet (you may attempt one or more of the other variations for Snare Drum and/or Mallets if you wish)

  • Snare Drum

  • Mallets

Piano

Students will attempt Theme and Variation 1 (you may attempt one or more of the other variations if you wish)

Guitar

Students will attempt 1 & 1B and 2 & 2B

Voice
